I am excited and flattered to hear so many of my friends and family are interest in my 6.5 week trip to India this summer! I figured the best way to share stories would be to start a blog where I can hopefully upload pictures and stories from the day. I will try and update as often as I can, but I make no promises. Also I am not the best when it comes to writing, so, sorry if (when) there are mistakes!
I am currently posting in the Qatar airport, while we wait out our 3 hour layover until we board our last leg to Chennai. I'm relieved to be done with the packing stage of the trip and on to the actual traveling part. I am a bad procrastinator when it comes to packing so I started the day before my flight and finished around 4A the day of. Our flight left Dulles a little after 9P last night for a 12 hr trip to Doha where the Qatar Airport is. I stayed with my family on the other side of security and got to my plane with a whole 5 minutes to spare before they closed the gates. The flight on Qatar Airlines was nice--They served a full dinner and breakfast and a snack in between and had hundreds of movies to choose from. I started a few movies but ended up falling asleep during each one. I did watch through most of Jurassic Park but the flight landed and cut it short. I got to sit with Heidi on the way over which was nice as we were able to catch up with each other on how our summers were going.
I'm excited for the trip to really begin and am not really sure what to expect, but we have a really great group of people going so I'm sure we will make it amazing.
Not quite how I expected to be spending 4th of July this year, but so worth it! Happy 4th!
